Running for Greeley City Council – Ward III

A Clear Vision for Greeley:
Committed to Community and Growth

A Lifelong Greeley Advocate

Born and raised in Colorado, I made Greeley my home in 1967. I’m a proud graduate of University High School and the University of Northern Colorado, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1981. After 43 years as a registered nurse in cardiology, I retired, but my commitment to our community remains as strong as ever.

I’m a wife to Bill Whitehead and a mom to Wilson and Carmen. For nearly 60 years, Greeley has shaped my life, and now I’m stepping forward to help shape its future.

Why I’m Running for City Council - Ward III

I listen. I care. I act.

I’ve lived in Ward 3 for over 21 years and have deep roots across Greeley. With a decade of experience as an elected official with School District 6, I’ve shown up with consistency, integrity, and an unwavering focus on what’s right for our community.

I love Greeley and I’m dedicated to Greeley's future. My goal is simple: to be your voice at City Hall.

Val Leal-Whitehead

A lifelong Greeley resident and retired cardiology nurse, Whitehead brings decades of community service, including 10 years on the School District 6 board. She’s running for Ward 3 City Council to guide responsible growth, preserve historic character, expand affordable housing, and maintain strong infrastructure with transparent, accountable leadership.
